McTavish Resource & Management Consultants Ltd, based in the lower mainland of British Columbia, provides professional services in the areas of agriculture, environment, resource management, forestry, and business. We are currently on the search for an experienced Bookkeeper to join our growing back office team.
The Bookkeeper will perform routine payroll and corporate financial duties for the general business operations of the company under the direction of the Finance Manager.
Key Job Functions & Responsibilities
Key functions/responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Finance
- Provide routine monthly financial support for business operations
- Receive accounts payable and ensure proper General Ledger coding
- Compile data and draft invoices for approval and review
- Process employee reimbursement transactions through SAP Concur
- Payroll Administration
- Complete bi-weekly payroll functions for both hourly and salaried employees
- Manage employee payroll inquiries
- Provide payroll reports for HRIS updates
Key Job Outcomes
Key outcomes include but are not limited to the following:
- Accurate financial record-keeping, up to date and free of errors
- Identification and resolution to any discrepancies in account reconciliation
- Manage accounts payable to ensure timely payment
- Accuracy in the creation of invoices for review and disbursement
- Payroll processing in compliance with provincial regulations
Job Requirements
Requirements for the role of Bookkeeper & Payroll Administrator are provided below:
- 2-3 years relevant experience
- High proficiency in QuickBooks Intuit, or similar accounting platform
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Previous experience with financial applications such as SAP Concur
- Legal authorization to work in Canada
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License (preferred)
Terms of Employment
- Based out of Kamloops or Surrey Office
- Part-Time, 24-32 hours per week
- $23-$30 per hour, depending on experience
