Okanagan Investment Group is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to assist in managing our day-to-day accounting and finance requirements.
This is a full-time position which includes competitive compensation (based on the experience, skills, education, and performance of the successful candidate) and full medical benefits after the probationary period.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Check and verify source documents such as invoices, receipts, computer printouts
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Entry & verifications of banking transactions
- Prepare cheques, process online payments, prepare bank reconciliations
- Comply with relevant reporting requirements
- Maintain & reconcile intercompany account entries
- Provide General Ledger analysis, reconciliations, and ability to investigate variances as required
- Assist with month end and year end journal entries, analysis and closing
- Assist with audits
- Maintain filing system to support financial records
- Maintain internal control systems
Education & Experience
- Diploma/Certificate in Accounting
- Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures
- Working knowledge of bookkeeping practices
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements
- Working knowledge of relevant computer applications
- Knowledge of data management and financial data analysis
- Minimum five years’ experience working in accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, general ledger
- Extensive experience with data entry, record keeping and computer operation
- Proficiency in Sage 50 Premium, Microsoft Office and Excel
