A commercial bakery located in Etobicoke is looking for a Bakery Production Manager to join our team.
Position: Bakery Production Manager (Pastry)
Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: Monday-Friday 6:00AM Start (approx 35 - 40 hours per week)
Location: Etobicoke near Kipling Station
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for delegating work, assign tasks to team leaders and team members to assure daily tasks are done accurately and in a timely manner.
- Oversee daily operations of the bakery, including production, inventory management, and quality control.
- Develop and implement bakery processes and procedures to ensure efficient and consistent production.
- Fabricate and assemble bakery products according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Monitor and maintain equipment to ensure proper functioning and troubleshoot any mechanical issues.
- Implement Lean manufacturing principles to optimize production efficiency and minimize waste.
- Continuously improve bakery systems and processes to enhance productivity and product quality.
- Train and supervise bakery staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean work area and free of hazards.
- Responsible in inspecting the raw materials prior to use and record observation on the checklist.
- Reviewing and completing records in a timely manner as well as pre-operational inspection sheets and reporting any discrepancies
- Ensure compliance with Food Safety regulations, GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices) and Health and Safety.
- Job duties are not limited to the above and other reasonable duties may be assigned by the Bakery Manager.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of mixing formulas pertaining to baked goods.
- Knowledge in Equipment Safety (Mixer, Depositor, Scale, Oven etc.) and practices
- Ability to multi-task by handling various production demands.
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures for Health and Safety & GMP.
- Strong organizational skills to manage inventory, schedules, and production timelines.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and suppliers.
- Lifting ability up to 50 pounds
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must be able to communicate in English, both verbal and written.
- Have the ability to stand and/or stoop for the full shift.
- Ability to work holidays and weekends if needed.
- Regular, dependable attendance is an essential function of this position.
- One year work experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is an asset.
