Job Summary:
The Automotive Service Advisor serves as the liaison between customers and the service department. They are responsible for greeting customers, understanding their vehicle issues, recommending necessary services, and ensuring the customer receives timely and accurate updates throughout the repair or maintenance process. Exceptional communication skills, automotive knowledge, and a customer-first attitude are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers in a professional, friendly manner upon arrival.
- Listen to customer concerns and accurately document vehicle issues.
- Provide accurate cost estimates and timelines for vehicle repairs and maintenance.
- Explain recommended services and repairs clearly and honestly.
- Coordinate with technicians to diagnose issues and determine repair needs.
- Communicate with customers throughout the repair process, providing updates and answering questions.
- Prepare repair orders and maintain detailed customer records.
- Process payments and ensure customer satisfaction upon vehicle delivery.
- Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and promote future business.
- Maintain a clean and organized service desk/work area.
- Adhere to dealership policies, safety regulations, and company procedures.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or certification in automotive technology is a plus.
- Previous experience in a service advisor or customer service role (automotive experience preferred).
- Strong understanding of vehicle systems and repair processes.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in service management software and general computer skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Experience with Dealer Management Systems (DMS), such as PBS
