We are looking for an Associate Manager, Regulatory Compliance Management
Overview
This role, part of the Canada Compliance team in the second line of defense, performs a critical function in our regulatory change management process. In addition to monitoring the legislative and regulatory environment and managing communication of Company-wide regulatory and legislative updates, the role also manages and facilitates the Company's involvement in regulatory consultations and supports the management and maintenance of our regulatory library and Compliance reporting.
This role offers the opportunity to work with a varied group of key stakeholders across the entire organization. Working closely with colleagues across Compliance, Risk, and Legal, and the business, this position provides a strong foundation in the Compliance function, the Canadian regulatory environment, and the impact on business strategy.
What you will do:
Working with second line of defence partners and teams across the business (including first line of defence teams), support the regulatory change management process, from identifying regulatory and legislative changes and amendments to monitoring the implementation of new legislation and regulation in the organization
Identify and produce the catalogue of legislative and regulatory changes on a regular basis
Identify regulatory consultations that may impact our business, assist in coordinating responses, and manage and monitor the regulatory consultation process
Lead internal working groups as needed to develop tools, and recommend new or improved processes, to enable initial applicability analysis and assessment of risk to various elements of the business
Develop strategies and processes that are capable of responding to the changing regulatory environment and organizational change
Assist in the facilitation of the regulatory change management process, across Compliance, Risk, Legal, and other stakeholders
Communicate with senior leaders through Company-wide communications related to regulatory change management
Assist in the development of a centralized regulatory change management tool and work with our business partners to implement and utilize the tool
Ensure employee requests related to activities outside the Company are responded to in a timely manner; track requests for outside activities
Provide other regulatory change management support as requested from time to time, including the support of the organization’s regulatory requirements library and Compliance reporting
Maintain positive, effective working relationships with compliance team members, business partners and other stakeholders
What you will bring:
3+ years of experience within the financial services/insurance industry or related field
Sophisticated understanding of the Canadian legislative process and regulatory environment
Excellent judgment and communication skills, to develop and influence process, procedure, and program improvements, and help drive change
Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills and ability to build positive, effective working relationships; ability to establish credibility with our partners from the outset
Superior strategic thinking skills to understand compliance strategy and objectives, and linkages to organizational strategy
Exceptional attention to detail, time management, organizational, and project management skills
An ability to follow established processes and procedures; identify opportunities for improvement; drive efficiency gains
Ability to quickly absorb information and learn detailed information about business structures and financial products
Strong Microsoft 365skills; experience with PowerBI is an asset
Bilingualism (fluent in English and French) is a significant asset
University degree in a relevant field is an asset
Relevant designations/certifications/licenses are an asset
The base salary for this position is between $63,500 - $117,400 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
