Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research and analysis
- Draft and review legal documents, including legal memoranda, demand letters, pleadings, applications, and settlement agreements
- Represent clients in court proceedings, including chambers applications and at trial
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients
- Advise clients on legal rights, obligations, and options
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations relevant to the practice area
- Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards
- An interest in general corporate work will be a plus
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor degree
- Have a minimum of four years of experience handling general commercial litigation matters
- Licensed to practice law in the Province of British Columbia
- Experience conducting examinations for discovery, attending chambers applications, and representing clients in full trials (at least two)
- The ability to write clearly and concisely
- The ability to conduct legal research thoroughly and efficiently
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $150,000.00-$230,000.00 per year
