Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Asphalt Roller Operator to join our paving crew for the 2025 season. The ideal candidate has prior experience with asphalt rollers, understands compaction techniques, and is committed to safety and efficiency on the job site.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate asphalt rollers (breakdown, intermediate, and finish rolling) to achieve proper compaction and smooth finishes
- Coordinate with paver and crew to ensure consistent quality and productivity
- Perform daily inspections, routine maintenance, and report equipment issues promptly
- Assist crew with other site work as needed (shoveling, raking, setup/cleanup)
- Follow health, safety, and traffic control standards at all times
- Work efficiently under time-sensitive project deadlines
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of asphalt roller operating experience (preferred, but training may be provided for the right candidate)
- Knowledge of asphalt compaction techniques and best practices
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong teamwork skills, reliability, and a safety-first mindset
