Reporting to the Cost Controller, the FP&A Analyst manages budgets, financial forecasts, and analyzes variances between actual performance and forecasts. He ensures compliance with IFRS and SOX requirements and generates detailed financial reports for management. He also provides training and support to managers on budget development, cost tracking, and financial data interpretation to help with strategic decision-making. He will work a 5-2 schedule at our Montreal office with occasional trips to the windfall site.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Provide training and support to managers in the development and documentation of budgets and financial assumptions;
- Develop and oversee the annual budget process, collaborating with multiple departments to guarantee alignment with the company’s strategic objectives;
- Ensure that the company’s performance is evaluated on a regular basis by analyzing variance between actual vs budget and/or Forecast, and monitor key ratios and their evolution;
- Make sure financial processes are in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) rules by implementing reliable internal controls;
- Collaborate with accounting teams to ensure that financial reporting is compliant with IFRS;
- Evaluate the profitability of construction and operation projects by monitoring their costs;
- Collaborate with finance, operations, and management teams to provide precise financial analysis and reporting;
- Ensure that complex financial concepts are communicated to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner;
- Develop financial forecasts that are based on historical data and market trends, and incorporate scenario analyses to evaluate the impact of different business strategies;
- Provide support to managers by reading and analyzing financial reports to improve decision-making;
- Perform any other related tasks that are necessary for the department to operate smoothly.
Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) to five (5) years of experience in a similar position;
- University degree in accounting, finance, or a similar field;
- Member of the CAP order (an asset);
- Bilingual, will work with English and French speaking employees;
- Experience in the mining or manufacturing industry.

- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel (Advanced level);
- Proficiency in MS Office;
- Ability to create data visualization dashboards (e.g. Power BI) (an asset);
- SAP S/4HANA or ERP experience (an asset);
- Experience in a SOX environment (an asset);
- Experience in an IFRS environment (an asset).
