Providing advisory support to the Global Sustainable Finance Team
Leverage our environmental, social and governance (ESG) expertise to help clients find ways to improve their sustainability footprint and operations, while mobilizing more capital to participate in the sustainable financing space.
The Analyst will support clients through structuring ESG products, delivering sustainability and other relevant ESG strategies, providing ESG advisory services and working to leverage the broader bank platform. The Analyst role spans a wide number of industries and involves work with a variety of ESG-related financial products and services, including public and private debt and equity financings, mergers and acquisitions, and ESG advisory.
You will gain valuable exposure to a wide number of industries and work with a variety of financial products, including public and private debt and equity financings, mergers and acquisitions, and financial advisory. Specific responsibilities include:
Deal structuring and execution (analysis, due diligence, capital structuring, client communications, delivering transaction documentation, etc.,)
Industry, regulatory and client research and analysis, including analyzing and writing internal and external content, and interpreting ESG scores and other relevant data, and more
Developing client presentations materials and supporting client relationships and business development
Writing internal and external marketing memoranda
Assist in identifying new client opportunities
Running valuation analyses
This position is ideally suited to talented, highly motivated individuals who seek to build a solid, comprehensive foundation in the basic to intermediate skills of Sustainable Finance.
Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree with a focus on business, economics, finance/accounting; MBA or other graduate degree a plus
2 to 4+ year’s relevant business experience, preferably in an investment banking or equivalent role at a global financial institution or comparable industry (e.g., asset management, management consulting, etc.)
Must be highly proficient in MS Excel & PowerPoint
Able to interpret ESG scores and their application across industries
Highly organized with a proven ability to manage and deliver on multiple complex projects with varying levels of urgency, sensitivity and importance at the same time
Understanding of ESG investing trends and practices a plus
Experienced and confident interacting at all levels, including with senior management
Communicates effectively on all levels, adapts style based on audience, is able to write, present and lead meetings

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
