KRR is looking for a 313D Residential Refrigeration Journeyperson or Apprenticeto join our team full-time!
A full-service multi-trade company based in Stratford, ON; we are locally owned and operated servicing industrial, commercial and residential sectors across Southwestern Ontario for the past 25 years. Starting with in-house engineering and design, moving through fabrication, installation, and long-term support as required; KRR meets and exceeds our customer's needs. Key Responsibilities:
- Install, troubleshoot, and service residential air conditioning and refrigeration systems, including split systems, heat pumps, and ductless mini-splits
- Perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs on residential cooling and refrigeration equipment
- Conduct system diagnostics and replace defective components, such as compressors, motors, thermostats, or controls
- Charge systems with refrigerants and verify system performance using gauges and testing equipment
- Ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications, Ontario Building Code, TSSA regulations, and the Environmental Protection Act (Ozone Depleting Substances regulation)
- Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and documentation
- Interact with clients in a professional and courteous manner, explaining issues and solutions clearly
- Adhere to all health and safety protocols, using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
Qualifications:
- Valid Certificate of Qualification – 313D Residential Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic (Skilled Trades Ontario)
- Ozone Depletion Prevention (ODP) certification
- Minimum [X] years of field experience in residential HVAC/refrigeration (preferred)
- Valid Ontario G-class driver's license with clean abstract
- Strong knowledge of residential HVAC system components, electrical systems, and refrigeration cycles
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Strong troubleshooting skills and customer service mindset
- Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and at heights if required
Qualifications
- Gas Technician 2 or 3 certification
- Working at Heights or WHMIS certification
- Experience with smart thermostats, zoning systems, or energy-efficient upgrades
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to travel to or work at various job sites in Ontario
- Residential service and installation work, both in new builds and retrofit environments
- Variable weather conditions, driving between sites
- On-call availability for emergency service rotations
Job Types: Full-time, Apprenticeship
Expected hours: 40 per week
